Plan to restore Skegness Pier to 'former glory' has been unveiled!

The plan to restore Skegness Pier back to its former glory has been unveiled last week!

The pier, which first opened in 1881 with the original length of 582m, was bought by the Mellors Group in February 2021 after being put up for sale for £3m.

Two large sections of the pier were washed into the sea in 1978, causing the pier to now be only 118m.

The Mellors Group hope not only to restore the original length but to "regenerate lost heritage infrastructure, enhance an existing cultural asset and provide new public amenity space, while creating new jobs and helping to attract more visitors to our favourite seaside town."- James Mellors
