How to spend a day in Mablethorpe

The vibrant seaside town of Mablethorpe is a destination perfect for families seeking the classic seaside experience. Enjoy an expansive array of family friendly attractions from water sports to wildlife centres. Alternatively, you could spend hours on Mablethorpe’s expansive beach that stretches for two miles and offers golden sands the whole way.
Lincolnshire Aquapark
Just a mile from Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire Aquapark is the place to head for a day of high-energy fun on the water.
The star attraction is the huge floating aquapark, where you’ll tackle a Total Wipeout-style obstacle course packed with slides, climbing challenges and plenty of opportunities to make a splash. Take on the giant Cyclone spinning wheel or see if you can conquer the 5-metre-high Jungle Joe climbing pyramid – all while trying to stay out of the water!
There’s more to enjoy beyond the inflatable course, too. When the aquapark is closed, the lake offers paddleboarding and kayaking, as well as instructor-led paddleboarding sessions for those looking to learn something new or build their confidence on the water.
Children aged 5–8 must be accompanied by an adult, but there’s plenty here to get everyone involved and having fun. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, head to the on-site Costa Coffee or The Badgers Barn for something to eat and drink.

Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary & Wildlife Centre
Right on Mablethorpe’s beachfront, Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary & Wildlife Centre is a fantastic place to meet a variety of animals and learn more about the work being done to protect them.
The sanctuary cares for injured grey seals found along the Lincolnshire coastline, alongside a range of other animals including lemurs, meerkats and birds of prey. Throughout the day, you can enjoy talks and feeding sessions, giving you the chance to see the animals up close while learning more about their lives and the important work of the sanctuary.
For an experience you won’t forget, why not step behind the scenes with the ‘Keeper for the Day’ experience? Get involved with the daily running of the centre, help feed the seals, meet the meerkats and discover what it takes to care for the animals.
Whether you’re visiting with little ones or you’re a keen wildlife lover, make a stop at the sanctuary and get closer to some of the Lincolnshire Coast’s most fascinating residents.
Queens Park
Just behind the promenade, Queens Park is a great place to enjoy a family day out, with plenty of activities all in one spot. Take a relaxing trip out on the boating lake, hop aboard the miniature railway or get competitive with a game of bowls, tennis, crazy golf or a round on the 18-hole putting course. There’s something to suit all ages, whether you’re looking for a bit of friendly competition or simply want to enjoy a leisurely afternoon.
Little ones can let off some steam in the play area before cooling down in the free paddling pool, complete with fountain hoses that are perfect for sunny summer days. When it’s time to refuel, you won’t have to go far. Grab a bite to eat or a drink at Linda’s Pavilion Café near the paddling pool, or head to The Wild Goose Pub at the south end of the park.

Mablethorpe Beach
Mablethorpe beach is the perfect place to enjoy a classic day by the seaside. With golden sands, sweeping dunes and a promenade stretching along the coast, there’s plenty of space to relax, explore and enjoy the fresh sea air.
There’s often something happening along the beach too, from donkey rides and sandcastle competitions to firework displays and bike races. When you fancy a change of pace, you’re just a short walk from Mablethorpe’s traditional seaside attractions, including arcades and mini golf.
If you’re planning to head into the water, be aware that jellyfish can be present along this stretch of coastline. Lifeguards operate during the summer season, but it’s still important to follow local advice and take a look at our beach safety before visiting.
Looking for a quieter spot? The southern end of the beach towards Sutton-on-Sea tends to be more peaceful and allows dogs all year round. The central section of Mablethorpe beach is dog-free from 1 May to 30 September, so be sure to check the local restrictions when planning your visit.
