Quirky places to stay on the Lincolnshire Coast.

With the Lincolnshire coastline providing the perfect backdrop for a weekend away, there is also plenty of choice when it comes to places to stay, and here are some of the quirkiest and unique options, to make your trip even more memorable!

Big Sky Hideaway

Providing off grid camping, glamping and events in the heart of Lincolnshire, Big Sky Hideaway provides exciting experiences close to the Lincolnshire coastline. With options to stay in a stationary American Schoolbus, double decker bus, hobbit hole or even your own hammock, plus plenty more quirky accommodation options, a stay here will be a unique experience for your entire party.

Within 50 minutes you could be enjoying the arcades and rides at Skegness, or taking it slow and exploring the wildlife at Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve – an unspoilt stretch of the coastline, just below Skegness.

This site even featured on Channel 5 on Ben Fogle’s New Lives in the Country!

Seymore Glamping Pods

Ideally located for those wishing to explore the incredible Lincolnshire coast, Seymore Glamping Pods are in the historic village of Theddlethorpe, on the grounds of a farmhouse dating back to the 1800s, just a seven-minute walk to Theddlethorpe Beach. The site is also right next to the King Charles III’s England Coast Path. There are good walks and cycle routes in the area with only a 30-minute walk cross country to Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve.

Theddlethorpe Beach is a beautiful stretch of coastline, voted one of the best beaches in the UK and just an eight-minute drive from the popular coastal town of Mablethorpe and 18 minutes from the quaint market town of Louth.

The glamping pods are fully equipped with open plan living space, a dining area, a Smart TV, kitchen with induction hob, microwave and fridge, bedroom area and ensuite, as well as a hot tub!

Rent a bell tent at The Lazy Buzzards

Just a ten-minute drive from the seaside resort of Skegness, but just rural enough and located in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside, The Lazy Buzzards is a peaceful escape with plenty to be explored nearby. Forget putting up a tent, you’ll be able to relax and unwind in the comfort and luxury of a glamping tent – already erected for your arrival and fully equipped with a double bed, kitchen equipment and utensils, your own BBQ, communal fire pit, power sockets and even a sofa! The site is within easy access to other villages and towns, including Burgh le Marsh, Ingoldmells, Spilsby and Chapel St Leonards, providing plenty of places to explore and enjoy your break!

Stay in a yurt at Tithe Farm

Located in North Somercotes, close to Donna Nook National Nature Reserve, at Tithe Farm you can enjoy the great outdoors and truly re-connect with nature.

With only one yurt on site, you’ll be able to relax in peaceful surroundings, away from any neighbours. Amidst flowers and wildlife, at Tithe Farm you can really take a break and unwind. The yurt has all the facilities you’ll need, including large futon bed, bedding, towels, woodstove, electricity, private lawn, picnic table, crockery and kitchenware, open air bathroom (suitably screened), and a large iron bath heated by a wood fire. You’ll need to use the hosts kitchen though if you’d like something heating up in an oven! There is also an indoor washroom available.

A stay at Tithe Farm is the perfect escape, encouraging you to connect with nature and the great outdoors! The farm is an 18th century farmhouse, set amongst six acres of gardens, which provide a natural habitat for wildlife, a diversity of wild-flowers and the needs of bees, butterflies and other invertebrates. Frequently passing through are badgers, foxes, deer, rabbits and hares, as well as water voles and several species of birds – including barn owls.

Relax in the Treehouse at Lake View Lodges

Overlooking one of the on-site lakes, the Treehouse has two private and secluded outdoor areas, a BBQ stand and firepit for cooking food, a private drive and even a private fishing platform. Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen and living space, making the treehouse the perfect spot for a self-catered stay.

Within 10 minutes’ walk, you’ll find a local country pub, and within 20 minutes you could be in the nearest village, Old Leake. Just 5 miles away, you can enjoy fresh coastal air, at RSPB Freiston Shore nature reserve, or you could head 20 miles Northeast to spend a fun day at the seaside resort of Skegness.
