Skegness is one of the most popular locations on the Lincolnshire Coast, and with so many family-friendly attractions on offer it's easy to see why! From seal sanctuaries and mini golf, to race cars and climbing walls, everyone can find something to enjoy.
Skegness Aquarium offers a fascinating marine experience where you can explore the ocean depths and observe the diverse ecosystems that call them home. Discover various arrays of sea creatures like zebra sharks and stingrays in the Aqua Theatre, or lionfish and jellyfish in the Sea Caves.
Alongside the vibrant displays of tropical fish, the aquarium hosts both engaging and educational fun activities that are perfect for family day trips. One such activity is Doodle Cove, where kids can create their own sea creatures and bring them to life in an animated ocean.
If you’re looking for an even more interactive activity, why not book a diving experience where you can have scuba diving and snorkelling training before getting up close and personal with sharks and all other kinds of fish.
After your trip under the sea, step back in time to the Jurassic era and come face to face with dinosaurs! The new Jurassic Falls experience hosts a variety of animatronic dinosaurs in an immersive trail which is perfect for families and dinosaur lovers.
Skegness Raceway offers some of the most adrenaline fuelled entertainment at the Lincolnshire Coast, making for a great visit on your way into or out of Skegness, especially if you’re a petrol head. The ‘Welcome to Skeg Vegas’ sign calls the raceway home and offers an iconic photo opportunity. The raceway offers some of the best banger and stock car racing in the whole country and consists of a ¼ mile circuit track featuring brief straights and tight bends, making for some thrilling action and finger biting tension.
It's easy to get swept into the excitement with the variety of event shows at the raceway, from monster truck car crushing to the massively popular caravan banger Destruction Derby. There’s more than racing events on offer too, with firework displays and tribute acts to keep the entertainment going into the evenings.
Many events offer free admission for children aged 12 and under, making a stop at the raceway even more tempting during a family day out.
Right next to Skegness Aquarium you’ll find Atlantis Adventure Golf, and 18-hole mini golf course set in immersive theming for the lost city of Atlantis. Test your skills, regardless of skill level, in some healthy competition and enjoy the scenery of cascading waterfalls, mystical caves, winding streams, and intricate sculptures throughout the course. There are also transfixing features to find like hidden treasure chests and a giant octopus, so be sure to look out for them.
Since the course is located on the Clock Tower promenade, you’ll find yourself in the centre of Skegness with a variety of restaurants, cafes, seaside treat stalls, and more attractions to fill out your day, making the course a perfect stop on your family day out.
Skegness Pier is one of the largest entertainment centres on the East Coast of Lincolnshire. Hosted within are a diverse range of family friendly attractions and entertainment, and with family packages available you could quite easily spend an entire day here.
You can expect to enjoy activities like 10-pin Bowling, Arcades, Laser Quest, Gellyball, themed Escape Rooms, and Captain Kid's, which is a large indoor soft play area. Skegness Pier also houses the thrilling Clip 'n Climb, the only climbing centre of its kind on the East Coast, with various climbing apparatus for everyone to enjoy. One highlight is the Leap of Faith, where thrill seekers climb to the top of a pillar and jump off the platform to grab a trapeze.
After your exciting activities inside, wind down with a walk across the Victorian boardwalk. The Pier reaches right up to the water's edge and showcases stunning views of the East Coastline.
If you’re looking for some quality time in the sun or a more reasonable day out that doesn’t break the bank, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Skegness beach. You can enjoy donkey rides across the beach, rolling up your trousers and crabbing, or just relax in the sun with a good book as the little ones build sandcastles.
Atlantis Adventure Golf and Skegness Aquarium are right next to the beach, so if you fancy popping in its a breeze. Alternatively, you can walk along the promenade and pick up a seaside treat from one of the many local stalls, or if you’re looking for a bit more excitement, then hop onto one of the promenades rides, like the wild river log Floom. During your day of excitement, you’ll no doubt work up an appetite, so why not treat yourselves to some fish and chips, there's plenty of great restaurants serving this seaside staple.
