Seal Pup Season

40% of the world's population of Atlantic Grey Seals make their home in the waters around the British Coast.

After enjoying a summer in the sea, the seals head onto the beach to meet their partners and birth their pups!

Between late October to mid-January, an average of 2000 pups are born at Donna Nook each year.

During the pupping season, approximately 60,000 people visit the Donna Nook Nature Reserve to see this spectacular occasion, so why not book your winter break to the Lincolnshire Coast?

The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust have a weekly seal pupdate where they share how many seal pups & parents can be seen from the viewing platform, so that you can plan your trip accordingly!

If you want to visit at the time of year where you can see the most seals, November & December are the prime months to visit the viewing platform.

Outside of the Seal Pup Season, The Donna Nook National Nature Reserve is open dusk until dawn, all year round.

At the Lincolnshire Coast, you can see the seals all year round!

Mablethorpe and Skegness both have incredible Sanctuaries that work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and release seals, alongside other wildlife.

Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary & Wildlife Centre is open February - Mid-December, where you can visit and learn about the resident alpacas, lemurs, and many other creatures, as well as the seals that are receiving care and rehabilitation, before they are released.

Natureland Seal Sanctuary, based in Skegness, is open every day. At Natureland, you can see the seals in their varying stages of rehabilitation - from the Seal Hospital, to the Hospital Pool, and finally, the Rearing Pool. Natureland also features resident animals for you to visit year-round, including an aquarium, butterfly house, and penguin enclosure!
