Admiral Benbow

One of the Lincolnshire Coast’s best-kept pub secrets, The Admiral Benbow is a quaint pub on the seafront at Chapel St. Leonards. Located just six feet from the beach, within touching distance of sandy shores, the pub offers an impressive selection of beers, lagers, ciders and spirits.

The pub is named after an English officer of the Royal Navy in the late 1600s and features a nautically themed interior. The decor celebrates the maritime history of the area with artefacts, antiques and fishing memorabilia adorning its cosy interior. There is plenty of outside seating on the ‘Hispaniola ship’ a purpose-built boat on the sand where you can unleash your inner sailor and enjoy a pint overlooking the vast openness of the North Sea. Much of the wood used to construct the outdoor seating was reclaimed from the old breakwaters and groynes that were originally used on Chapel Beach.

Admiral Benbow is proudly pet-friendly and its prominent location on the coastal promenade between The North Sea Observatory and Ingoldmells makes it a popular mid-walk stop-off point for families and dog walkers, all throughout the seasons. It's an especially cosy place to stop for a drink during a winter walk along the coast, embracing the fresh sea breeze.

Fans of real ales will certainly not be disappointed with the selection on offer here, and you can also enjoy a tasty treat with a range of hot and cold bar snacks. The Coastal Promenade stretches along the Lincolnshire Coast and is a popular place to walk and see the sights the natural coastline has to offer. Admiral Benbow’s location right alongside it makes it a great spot to enjoy a drink break.
