Things to do at Dogdyke Pumping Station...

Spring has arrived at the historic Dogdyke Pumping Station and the engines are bursting into life along with the blossoms on the surrounding apple, pear and plum trees. 

Come and visit our first open day this year on Sunday 1 May between 12.30 and 4.30pm.

  • You will see unique 1856 Bradley & Craven steam engine at work 
  • The Lincoln built Ruston and Hornsby oil engine of 1940, powering the 24inch Gwynnes’ centrifugal pump
  • Display of vintage cars along with bygones, including a collection of bottles from Boston firms and the famous Cheffins’ water filters
  • Refreshments are available
  • In the pump attendant’s cottage there is a museum featuring the history of land drainage

Admission is free but donations are welcome.
