Fantastic Italian daredevils to headline the 2018 SO Festival

Fantastic Italian daredevils to headline the 2018 SO Festival on their first ever visit to the UK

A SPECTACULAR display of human vertical and aerial acrobatics will thrill the crowds at this year’s SO Festival, as a top European act visits the UK for the first time.

Headlining on the Saturday evening, September 1, in Skegness will be the phenomenal Italian artists who together make up eVenti Verticali.

Under the direction of brothers Luca and Andrea Piallini, who founded the company in 2006, the show enthrals audiences with its stunning circus and acrobatic skills – all performed vertically

Based in Sardinia, this is the company’s first time in Britain, and the show is set against a ‘super hero’ backdrop. A floor is rotated by 90-degrees on which the performers step, run, jump, dance and tell a heroes and villains story that is watched with ‘bated breath’.

Luca and Andrea try to explain, although it needs to be seen to be believed!

“The walls become our stage and every time there is a different space then eVenti Verticali reinvents, recreates and reinterprets.

“We are so excited about bringing our world-renowned show to the British audience for the first time. Not only will you see a lot of acrobatics and impressive evolutions in the air, but also a cops and robbers story that will make you laugh,” they promised.

For So Festival organisers this is a real coup and shows the benefit of engaging this year’s artisitc director, Jens Frimann Hansen from top Danish European production house, Helsingør Teater.

This 2018 festival is once again being co-ordinated by the Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture, partnered by Arts Council England, East Lindsey District Council, Passage Festival, Helsingor Teater, Without Walls and Coasters.

Events, the vast majority free, are planned in Mablethorpe on Friday August 31 from noon until 5pm, and in Skegness on Saturday September 1, from noon until 10pm, and on Sunday, September 2, from noon until teatime.

Cultural Project Co-ordinator for the Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture, Katie-Louise Green, promises more exciting announcements.

“We are thrilled to be able to announce eVenti Verticali as our headline act, it promises to be a fantastic show for all the family. And this is just the start of our news as we look to provide a fun-packed two days. It is going to be brilliant,” she said.
