Town Deals, Mablethorpe & Skegness

Following the hard work from Heritage Lincolnshire funding, Mablethorpe and Skegness are to be transformed from neglected town centres to modern and more attractive shop fronts. 

Mablethorpe

Mablethorpe’s Townscape Heritage will be a 5 year project to transform Mablethorpe’s neglected town centre and key gateway through a comprehensive regeneration programme. The programme involves, a grant scheme to improve character and appearance of its buildings and help bring empty shops and upper floors back into use. Alongside this is public realm enhancements which include the promenade to provide a better link to Queens Park.

Skegness

The Skegness Townscape Heritage Project aims to revitalise and regenerate 60 + buildings within Skegness’ Town Centre through the reinstatement and repair of historic shopfronts and upper floors including facilitating reuse where applicable making it a more attractive place to live, work, visit and invest in.

It will support up to 100 businesses to improve their buildings and businesses. The economic impact of transformations through historic building frontages repaired and transforming the look of Skegness’ town centre will mean that it will become more appealing to visitors, aesthetics, and improve the perception of the town.
