UPDATED 20/05/2020 - The Event is POSTPONED due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation
Today we have made the difficult decision to POSTPONE the scheduled Reggae Weekend event due to the ongoing coronavirus situation. This event will now be rescheduled to take place in 2021 and we will be working with everyone involved to ensure that the 2021 version is bigger and better. With current restrictions still in place and the lifting of any lockdown measures in the future being unclear currently, we do not feel that it would be appropriate for us to continue to look to deliver this event for 2020. We fully understand the government’s guidance to cancel large public gatherings and national events to help reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus. The safety and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers, performers and visitors is as always, our number one priority.
We are extremely sorry to have had to make this decision. We have been monitoring the news and advice continually but as the situation has unfolded, we know we have no alternative but to postpone Skegness Reggae Weekend 2020. I would like to thank everyone for supporting the event and for their hard work and commitment during this difficult time. the cancellation of the event has a significant impact on not only us, but our performers and businesses and the local community around the event.
As soon as the current situation regarding mass gatherings and events is clear we will begin to provide information for next year's event.
